Today, Petrolin Group has announced the execution of two Concession Agreements for Radio and Television Frequences between the High Authority for Audio-Visual and Communication (HAAC) of Benin and the companies Diaspora FM and Groupe de Presse International ITV, belonging to Mr. Samuel Dossou-Aworet.
In 2012, the HAAC launched a tender for the attribution of new frequencies for private radio and television stations. The offer presented by the President of the Petrolin Group was short-listed and finally accepted for operation of the radio and television frequencies by the Government’s Decision n° 12-046/HAAC dated 12th December 2012. Following inspection visits of the operator’s sites, the operators were authorized to proceed with testing for a period of one month. These trails were successful, thereby permitting signature of the two conventions and delivery of licenses to operate.
The purpose behind the radio and television initiative of the President of the Petrolin Group is to broadcast and share African values, knowledge and know-how. Equally, this initiative responds to the need to promote synergies among local and regional collectivities and institutions both public and private by way of a communications platform bearing a new address: A forum for exchanging ideas and bringing people together where information and education will play a preponderant role.
