Enhancement of the Trading activity

Since 1992, Petrolin Group has been active in the Trading of crude oil and refined products from Africa, principally from Gabon.

Some producers have no marketing capability or trading department, and have therefore granted to Petrolin Group the exclusive right to market their production share as well as their partners’ share under production-sharing agreements where the operator is contractually responsible for marketing of production. It is in this context that, between 1995 and 2012, small volumes of crude oil belonging to the Gabonese State found their way into the far larger volumes marketed by Petrolin Group.

Launching of oil data management activity

With the goal of creating an analytic product best suited for the management of petrotechnical data, Petrolin Group developed an application software package for her clients.

Conscious of the difficulties encountered by many African countries in the promotion of their minerals domain, Petrolin developed at their behest, in partnership with Stephenson and Associates, a petrotechnical data management tool, PSApphire. User friendly and cost effective, PSApphire was also chosen by governmental agencies charged with management of hydrocarbons, such as the Direction General des Hydrocarbures of Gabon, as well as by oil companies such as Addax Petroleum. Utilising a geographic information system PSApphire allows rapid access to information thanks to spatial data representation. In addition to the installation of this tool with clients, Petrolin and her partner Stephenson and Associates assist with the collection of data (reports, maps, seismic sections, well logs, etc.), their registration and their introduction with geo-referencing in the PSApphire data bank.

Establishment of Petrolin UK Limited in London

With 20 years of experience in the oil industry, Mr. Samuel Dossou-Aworet created Petrolin UK in 1992. Initially Petrolin UK Ltd was a crude oil trading, and refinery processing company aiming to commercialise refined petroleum products.

His expertise led to a successful consulting practice disseminating strategic advice for oil producing countries (Benin, Congo, Gabon, RDC, Chad, etc.), for international organizations (APPA, ABR and OPEC), and International Oil Companies such as Tullow Oil.
