NIGERIA - NDPR’s Well 1 Successfully tested to 26MM scf/d

Niger Delta Petroleum Resources Ltd (NDPR), the fully owned operating subsidiary of Niger Delta Exploration & Production Plc (NDEP), recently re-entered and tested its Ogbele Well 1. The highest flow rate attained during the test was 26MM scf/d, with 1,500 b/d of condensate.

When Well-1, hitherto oil producing well, was re-entered and recompleted, a major deeper objective gas bearing reservoir was tested as part of the programme. The G3.00X reservoir was successfully tested and the findings prove its ability to supply gas for the NDPR Gas Processing Plant, which is now completed, at Ogbele.

‘Confirming the presence of such a significant volume of gas in Well #1 is fantastic news for NDPR’s gas utilisation project’, said Dr ‘Layi Fatona, MD, NDEP. ‘With a confirmed supply of gas, a pioneering Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) in place with the NNPC /Shell JV, and the completion of the Gas Processing Plant, we are set to become the first Indigenous operating company to supply gas to the NLNG Train 6, in Bonny.’
